For the tl;dr go here:
The time line is as follows, thanks to Skype.
Timeline of Events:
Saturday May 21st, 3:58pm: Aquired via a program in the form of pimp-my-gun.exe from blogwhereyoucandowload.com/pimp-my-gun-download. The site itself is clean, but the download is not.
4:03pm: Opening of the exe file and various systems on the computer go haywire, including Skype and Avast. Immediate termination of the program and removal of the exe file.
4:06pm: Forced system reboot and computer shell compromised. Disconnection of the device.
Monday May 23rd, 5:30 - 8:36pm: Skeleton setup of infected system and analysis of the damage. (Monitor, keyboard, mouse).
9:00 - 10:00pm: Clean up and mine sweep with Malware Bytes, RougeKiller, OTL,
Resetting of system shell (the bat file)and reboot, restoration of desktop functionality. More sweeping with iExplorer, Zemena Antimalware and Adwcleaner.
Doing final sweeps now but so far the demon (or daemon for the Warhammer jokes) has been purged and no need to wipe the drive.
The tutorial provided by
beingcomputer.com has helped immeasurably and I am at least happy that so far there as not been any serous issues with performance and/or startup. I do happen to be fortunate enough to know how to do all this crazy tech magic, but this is for others out there that have been hit with this virus and or scam. By now it's obvious that you shouldn't call that number or give any form of control to the people responsible for this virus, (unless you want to chew the person on the phone out). Your experience may vary, from what I have seen I seemed to get the nastier form of this virus that is built to panic and goad you into handing over money to them. Just goes to show you how much of a penis blower people can be when they pull shit like this.
This is something that you can fix on your own if you keep yourself leveled and don't panic like I did.
